Canada, the Fourth Day
Friday, May 22, 2009The past two days in four words (and a conjunction): Nanaimo, Vancouver, Burnaby, & Seattle. 001 through 011 are from Nanaimo, Vancouver, and Burnaby. The chilli in 001 was delicious, I kind of wish 005 had a small note inside it, 008 and 009 are cousins in that the latter was taken while I was in the former, and 010 and 011 was an intense game of checkers in Newcastle. I say intense because it was against my cousin-in-law...? Is that correct? He's a retired soldier. Which is why I lost. Right.
012 through 031 are all from my first day in Seattle. Well, 013 is what separates the border between Canada and the U. S. of glorious A. I would've gotten out and taken a better picture but I was afraid of getting tackled by border control. (Especially with all the media I've been hearing about police officers mad, here). I wish I had bought something from 017, it's just some crazy things like ice cubes shaped like Titantic and its Iceberg, or old dentures. (I would've liked serving that in all the drinks my roomie learned to make at our apartment!).
020 makes me laugh because it's right between what I believe is a furniture store and a pricey chocolate store. The irony is not lost on me.
022 is something I would like to show the store owners back at uni. Some places close after 1o p.m. Dream big, Waconians, dream big.
023 to 030 are all at Pike's Place Market. 028 was my attempt at taking a picture of the fish slinging. The blur in the left side is the fish. I swear. And I haven't seen The Soloist, but I think I've met the real-life example of it in 030. Genius, pure genius on that piano.
And lastly, 031 is the current hotel. Seems fancy, but it's not very impressive having to walk from the parking lot (which is at the end of the hotel), then walk across from one of the hotel to the other end of the hotel where we need to take the elevator to the second floor. Then walk back across the hotel to our room. Who needs a gym, just assign inconveniently placed rooms to the guests. Bravo!
