Day 1 of Austin Road Trip
Monday, May 09, 2011The take-off of Day 1 Austin Trip was successful, if a little rushed on my part. I woke up at 9 am and packed right then and there. I only packed a small red suitcase, but I also managed to bring my laptop to keep track of this road trip. The passengers? Connie, Liz, Dee, and myself. Four girls quickly making their way to Austin, towards Austin Motel. We got a room on the second floor and our theme ended up being "Woodlands Melody" so... we are four wooden nymphs. Tada! (Me and Liz). (The fact that we're both wearing stripes is coincidental!) I promised to bring a stuffed animal since Liz was going to bring hers. Dearest Algernon (gift from Ben) is on the right wearing my shades.

Anyway, Day 1 began with completing appointments on mine and Connie's part. She got a haircut at Method Hair, and I had some waxing done at Milk & Honey. We took pictures outside because the chairs looked pretty snazzy.

We walked around, visiting high-end boutiques to try on dresses. I want to find a cocktail dress for the fancy restaurant we're going to in Las Vegas! I didn't find anything today but I'm not bummed about it. There's always tomorrow.

We also went to a cupcake store called Delish. I bought a super delicious lemon zest cupcake. The wall was also littered by cupcake drawings colored by little kids. I found some that were super cute, but this one was especially amusing.

Dinner was rounded off at South Congress (ate there last time for SXSW/Goodphil) and ordered a Cajun Seafood Pasta. It was delicious!

We're heading to Gourdoughs later in the night for late night donuts, I hope I find something super delicious!
