How's it going?
Monday, October 22, 2012So how have I been? Several of my friends have texted me asking that same question. For the most part, I'm doing alright. I've got this year to get myself together, prepping myself for yet another round of applications next May. At the moment, I feel like there's nothing I can do but keep moving forward. Family have been supportive, boyfriend have been supportive, and friends have been supportive. These past few months I've done mostly one thing, keep my head down and work on my classes. As it stands, I should have straight As at the end of the semester. I hope that will be enough to keep me in the list of appealing applicants (but I've still got another semester to sort out so I'll hold off any more musings on that topic).
There's nothing new or exciting happening in my life; I have no shame to admit that it's all rather boring. But I've managed to find things to keep me occupied when I'm not hitting the books. In the summertime, Ben purchased Guild Wars 2 for me. What that inevitably means is that I've been playing a lot of Guild Wars 2 with Ben. We've done a couple dungeons already and they were so much fun! I would like to play more but I have to keep pushing play times further and further away because of homework and studying. There's a bit of lingo I need to be familiar with when it comes to MMORPGs. The chatbox is pretty active because players are typing for everyone to see certain loots they're selling or calling out to players looking to do a dungeon together. I feel a little silly having to ask Ben what the people are saying but it doesn't really get in the way of us playing.
Oddly enough, one of Ben's closest friends joined us in the game. From what I understand, he's living in Seattle and working for Amazon. Sounds like a nice life, doesn't it? I'm jealous of his location. I told Ben we should go up there sometime; maybe the prospect of seeing his friend would make the trip more likely? Hehe... our weekly visits are still continuing. I don't know about other people, but I love doing this. I'm not in danger if getting tired or whatever other couples complain about. Just recently, Ben came over with flowers and chocolate rugelach from my favorite bakery. I wondered if there was any occasion but Ben said they were 'just because' flowers. Gosh I swooned! The perfect show of appreciation manifested itself in homemade pancakes and pure Canadian maple syrup the next day (also whipped up a couple slices of Turkey bacon). Wish every day could be like this but until I get my own place, I'll have to cherish these brief weekends.
I mentioned in my previous posts that any Halloween celebrations would have to be postponed until after the holiday. Even though it's a little sad, I'm still going through with the Halloween-themed snacks and possibly a scary movie? Ben and I headed over to Target and we bought two very cheap Halloween headbands to show a little festive cheer (we're going to have little devil horns on our head). Of course, you can't visit the Halloween aisle without trying some cheesy Halloween accessories.
And lastly, on a completely (hysterical) unrelated note, I've been obsessively looking at cute things on the internet; clothes, animals, gifs, etc. It is just not stopping! I think I might be putting in some of these cutesy gifs on my posts (if they haven't already started popping up!). And don't get me started about my pinterest folder for 'Her Style'. Every time I click on it I see my fantasy closet staring back at me... well, until that fantasy closet can become reality, I'll just bide my time! Maybe next post I'll talk about the most recent products I purchased?
