I am well into my last semester here towards earning my masters. It's as busy as last semester (I've already had three exams) but I'm a little more used to the scheduling. Today is Ben's birthday! I mailed his present last week so it arrived in time. Tuan actually organized a small potluck to celebrate the past New Years/Ben's birthday for later tonight (isn't that sweet of him? Good job Tuan). He messaged me earlier asking if I would like to join in singing the birthday song through a skype call. More than pleasantly surprised, I'm looking forward to being apart of the celebration in a small way.

Ben's birthday means more than just celebrating his birthday, it means the start of a very tricky balance of preparing for the next special occasions:

1. Ben's Birthday (1/31)
2. Our 2 Year Anniversary (2/7)
3. Valentine's Day (2/14)
4. My Birthday (2/18)

It's tough isn't it? I was talking to my hair stylist about it and she jokingly said, 'he couldn't wait to ask a better time? spread it out!' It certainly required a bit of research to come up with meaningful gifts. I've got a handy list full of good ideas so it was just a matter of picking ones that worked. I've always wanted to get him a watch so I figured his birthday was a good time to pick something spectacular. He hasn't worn one before but I know it would be useful in the clinic. Plus I think it adds a nice chic look towards looking more professional.

I also included another gift: a photo key chain! I wrote a little note on Paint wishing him happy birthday again followed by some silly photos of myself or of both of us. It can hold up to 60 photos even though I only put around 20 in there. He promised me he was going to fill it with candid shots he took through skype (should I be scared? haha).

I'm halfway through for the next big events since I started early. I'm glad I did because I can't imagine trying to get it all done in a week! I was planning on writing here about my venturing into makeup and skincare but I think I'll save it for another post. It should prove to be lengthy (I think!).
