August & Acceptance
Friday, August 01, 2014The only reason I'm writing this at 4 in the morning is because I'm still tapped into my night shift routine. I do have a night shift tonight and three more next week. It's August and that means closer to when the rest of the PA schools start taking a look at me (and sending an interview? maybe?).
I still have two more interviews to look forward to: one in NM and the other in Galveston! Whatever happens, I'm going to be a PA. It is a weight off my shoulders but now I've got to figure out many things: relocation, insurance, etc. It's a lot to take in but a small amount of celebration is in order, right? I haven't had a chance to properly celebrate because of work but as soon as I am able to, I will!
I want to focus on my interviews now and maybe take some time off work for good. It's a bit early in the year but it's very tempting considering these night shifts make me want to sleep for a week straight. I just want to take a deep breath before I get submerged in the learning process! The August schedule is made up already. Perhaps I should bring up the subject of shifting to part-time for September? It's something to think about.
I was reading through Greatist earlier and found a 'self-care' calendar for August. It said for the first of August, I should write down 5 things to be happy about right now; here goes.
1. I got accepted into a PA school.
2. I got invited to submit a supplemental to a MPAS/MPH program.
3. I have two more interviews! (More in the future?)
4. I ate a huge portion of pumpkin pie before going to bed.
5. I am about to go to bed.
Well until next time folks. Good morning and good night!
