Last Minute Touches (Queued)
Sunday, July 20, 2014I'm sitting in my transfer airport, I've got two hours of downtime until I actually board. Some thoughts since this trip, I really need to work on my upper body strength. It's nice how people help you out in your luggage but it's starting to feel a little embarrassing when I'm asking for help. The silly part is that I wasn't even able to open the compartment overhead... I swear that button was really stuck. Also, I checked and double-checked and triple-checked but I still managed to forget something: my oil-blotting sheets. Not a huge loss but I was so sure I had packed it.... It might be in my suitcase.
Speaking of suitcases, I feel a little jealous of all the 360 degree movement suitcases. They look pretty snazzy. But my suitcase has lasted for years without a huge sign of breaking down so it would be a waste to get a new one. Maybe I can splurge later on.
I brought my camera with me because this is a great opportunity for some video shots! I hope I don't look too sketchy but I think I'm affecting an attitude of "harmless traveler girl." I had an interesting stroke of luck this morning when I got to the airport. I was led to the pre-TSA line which means I didn't have to take off my shoes, sweater, or 3-1-1 bag from my carry-on. I have no idea how I got chosen for this, nothing on my boarding pass indicated that and I definitely didn't pay for it. Must be a promotional thing where they select random people? Whatever the case, it was pretty handy.
The most bizarre thing so far was that I caught sight of one of my former classmates from high school. I didn't call out or anything because we weren't really in the same friend group, but it made me think 'what a small world.' I saw that she had her possible significant other with her and thought to myself it would be nice to have company on this plane trip. This is kind of a novel thought because the whole flying solo has had a veneer of cool in my mind.
And before I end this post, can I brag a little about my 3-1-1 bag? Managed to fit lots of things in there.

Queued up a bunch of posts:
- Pennsylvania trip (where my bragging up there was not necessary as it broke on arrival. But I have ordered a new bag which I'll talk about in probably the post after all these three posts haha)
- Board Game Meetup
- Riondo's Soft Opening Night
