Semi-Long Post Part II: Sunday Date and Roses!
Friday, February 08, 2013I take so many photos, I wonder if I should rename this post as a photo diary instead. Anyway, we did some walking at the City Center again! Since it was super bowl night, there weren't a lot of cars or people walking around. We stopped by Anthropologie and J. Crew but the sales were ridiculously bad or non-existent. Plans to eat at a fast food place were trashed and we found ourselves on the patio of The Yard House. They had heater stands to keep the area nice a warm from the chill outside. All the screens had the game playing and it looked like everyone was in for the long haul of the game.
Ben hasn't had an onion ring tower in a long time so it was expected we ordered it for the appetizer. I'm not a huge fan of onion rings but these were delicious! Whoever decided sprinkling them with Parmesan is a culinary genius. Ben ordered orange chicken and I ordered a peppercorn-Gorgonzola burger. The stick thin fries were the perfect size and made just how I like them. We stuck around to see the conclusion of the game. I'm glad the scores were a lot closer. The first half was such a joke but the second half made up for it. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't hear the half-time show (no sound turned up on the patio) but YouTube can always rectify that.
I seem to have a newfound crush on Urban Outfitters. Their clothes aren't really my style but some items that seem so strange/funky draw me in for no reason. Plus, I want to try out all the zany outerwear they have lined up in that place. Convinced Ben to suffer through another round of photos—he should get used to this by now—in a clothing store. I'm normally shy too but as long as we're not making a scene, taking these photos shouldn't be too embarrassing, right?
In any case, a stop at the City Center wouldn't be proper without checking out the Sweet shop. Macaroon time! There were a lot of flavors to choose from but I just stuck with three of them: pistachio, coconut, and hazelnut. Yum! Also ordered a small coffee that was pretty good.

I wish we could go out on dates more often but these snippets will have to do! I said in the previous post that we couldn't celebrate till later in February and March, but Ben planned ahead with flowers mailed to my house! "Over the moon" would be an accurate description of how I felt when I opened the box. Also waking up the next day to roses on my bedside table was a nice way to start the morning. Roses for our third year anniversary! They're gorgeous and hopefully will last the week on my bedside table :)

One more post after this should wrap up this semi-long series! Then back to blabbing about frustrating people in class and such haha
