Catch Up 2012: Part I

Tuesday, December 25, 2012

I'm prepping a draft for my last post of the year before 2013. It's probably going to be one of my longest posts yet if I can't figure out a way to break up all the things I wanted to mention. There have been several "shopping haul/things I've been eyeing" posts that I missed out on posting so I figure better late than never. A couple miscellaneous mentions too but I'm thinking it would be a waste to be caught up in chronology. So since it's Christmas today, I'm just going to be writing up a miniature storm until New Years hits.

For Christmas Eve, we did things a little differently. Dinner was a far cry from the usual Christmas dinner and I was the sole chef! It sounds like a big affair but the only thing on the menu was pork wontons and snicker doodle cookies! I think it's something I would've done if I had my own place so it was pretty interesting to see that my parents didn't mind the lackluster event. I made the pork filling myself (Ben swears it tastes better than Tuan's parents' recipe!) and rolled tiny dough balls into cinnamon and sugar. Parents have fallen in love with both entrees so when I get a chance for the next time I make them, I'll be sure to take some photos.

Oh and Christmas presents? I had many little shopping trips so I suppose there were lots of Christmas presents being passed around! One of my favorites was another new pair of wedge boots from Ben. Looks like he's keeping up some sort of trend of buying me shoes. One day, I can return the favor! I'll need a camera on hand to capture his expression whenever I get a chance to buy him some wingtips or something haha

As far as shopping hauls go, Ben got me suckered into the Christmas buttons event that JCP was doing. Either we were really lucky or JCP was being extremely generous because between us, we wracked up almost $100 in certificates! I would post pictures about all of my purchases if I could but I'm feeling a little lazy to search for all of them (or to take a picture of them myself haha). Here are some of my favorites:

004 005

I also bought two new nail polishes from ULTA. Revlon's Midnight and Bold Sangria. Before these two, I realized most of my purchases were these light colored polishes that just didn't seem to pop as much as I thought it would. These colors are a lot deeper in color but really fun to try out.

I never properly addressed my new makeup adventures or skincare adventures because I'm still working on a proper regimen. It might be too soon to expect it before the New Year but it will definitely be written! For now, I'm planning out either an abbreviated post about the past year or just a really wordy one. I guess the former would be more appealing, eh? Plans are being set into mention concerning hangouts with friends. That should prove to be more than enough to write about!

As for next post, it will probably be a photo diary about this past weekend. Look forward to it!
