Post-Grad Plans
Wednesday, April 27, 2011I distinctly recall bemoaning the fact that I couldn't find anything to write about for my next post. Then it hit me, of course, why not mention what I'll be doing in the near future? Well, right after finals and before graduation, a 3 days/2 nights stay at Austin. We'll be staying at the awesome Austin Motel! Each room is decorated with its own theme, colors, and furniture. Our room is on the second floor, two queen-sized beds! I wonder what room will it be...definitely a good chance to take some pictures!
We're planting ourselves smack dab in South Congress Avenue! There's going to be late night walks to all the food vendors, vintage stores, and who knows what else we'll happen upon. My foodspotting will probably get a flurry of photos. I should remember to bring some pepto just in case I overeat!
Once graduation happens (it's also on my mom's birthday), I can head back home and hopefully get settled in. I've already told my parents when I want to apply (next April) so I've got some time to get certified as a MLT. Still haven't decided if I should get morning hours or afternoon hours because I'll be taking one or two classes on the side. Seems like a busy schedule just thinking about it but I'll try to treat it as getting used to a routine. I have my anxious moments when I think about what I'll do if I don't get in. But I know thinking that way won't help anyone, much less myself. I can tell my parents are pushing for PT but if I can just succeed in this new venture... Well, I guess I'll see!
But back to post-grad plans. Some of us graduating seniors are planning a 5 day/4 night stay at Las Vegas. Connie's pushing for me to join her to NY afterwards but I wonder if I'll have any elbow room to ask that from my parents! It would be crazy if they let me but I'm 80% sure they'll say no! At least the Las Vegas trip is possible. We still have to nail down the week. Originally planned in the beginning of June, it may be pushed up to the end of May (very soon!). Hopefully the tickets can be purchased by this weekend, or we'll be in dire straits!
I just realized that most of my statements have an exclamation point. The excitement brushing off on my writing? Possibly. (Resisted an exclamation point there, wow). Right now, I've got finals to contend with. I'm literally coasting right now. Wish all my classes were showing a movie like Death and Dying. Le sigh.
