Possible Winter Plans? + Gene Harris' Hot Toddy is pure bliss

How does a winter trip to New York sound? My gal pals and I are considering a trip but I have to keep in mind that I don't know how the following months are going to look like. Especially since I'm waiting to hear some good news in the coming weeks...fingers crossed! I know a couple of people living in NYC now, including a good friend at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. She always said I should crash at her place if I ever need to find myself a place to stay. I guess in this case, I can just drop in and say hello.

Right now, for the past two weeks, the weather has been equal parts hot/humid and rainy/chilly. It just can't make up its mind. The rain makes me want to curl up along the window or jump into my car and drive somewhere far. I should count these moments of peace and quiet as a treasure since I may not have these luxuries later. The mindless checking of my email hasn't abated but I have found other things to keep myself productive: reading up on health care policies, reading an interview book I got off Amazon, and working on two languages on Duolingo. It's enough to keep a girl like me happy.

I can't decide whether October is passing with excruciating slowness or blinding speed. No thanks to the waiting game I've been in since the end of summer, but it can really play with your comprehension of time. At least I have a lovely pumpkin pie to tide me over. Looks like I can add dreams of walking through NYC with friends to that as well.
