Gearing Up
Friday, May 17, 2013So I never made those recipes that I said I was going to. What I did do was bake a pot roast and bring that baby over to Ben. But there are no pictures to show how it looked. It was delicious though!
I finished my last final a week ago. All I can manage to say is finally! As in every class and recommendation letters to boot. I'm hoping that will mean something for when I apply. Friends and family have been encouraging, despite my inner voice's best attempts at keeping me doubtful. Right now, I'm trying to plow my way through applications. It really is no big feat but I'm struggling with coming up with things to say. It's no excuse but I wonder if my reluctance to finish is anxiety over sending them out. Once it's out of my hands, there's really nothing left for me to do except hope and pray. But if I hold onto it, maybe I can still work some magic to make it more appealing? I'm just going back and forth!
Friends in medical school seem to be really suffering from all the stress of studying for STEP 1. I wonder how I would have fared if I had been in accepted into medical school along with them. There's no point in wondering about it now, but I wish there was something I could do to ease the strain. For now, I've been trying to keep Ben sane while he prepares for his exam. There isn't much that we do these days either. I'm looking forward to when he can take a breather before he starts his clinicals for third year. It seems he will be really busy for that year. To be honest, I'm kind of worried about that but if I can get a job during that time, maybe I won't have much time to worry about it?
It seems I'm finding every excuse not to work on applications. Alright, this is enough for now. Back to the writing!
